Hello BYC community!
My name is Shari. I come from a beautiful part of North Idaho. I am married, have 5 grown children (3 mine, 2 my DH's) and 4 grandchildren so far. The only pet besides chickens is a cat. We have a house on 5 wooded acres, with a vegetable garden that is expanding this year. My husband and I work together at the same company. We have lots of interests including scuba diving, camping, 4 wheeling, boating, hunting and fishing,
I have 3 laying hens that I acquired from my sister, along with their small coop last year. We are in the process of building a larger coop to house the 8 chicks( 2 gold laced wyandottes, 1 silver laced wyandotte, 2 americaunas, 3 different colored sex links) that are in the brooder now, I have a Blue Andalusian ordered, coming Friday. Hopefully I will be adding 4 more depending on the answer to a message that I sent another member here. I have planned to pass the small coop and older hens on to the neighbor when she is ready for them.
I found this amazing site from several Pintrest pins. I have spent the better part of yesterday and ALL of today, glued to my laptop on here. I now have a firm plan for the interior design of the coop, as well as plans for better feed and watering systems. Thanks to the informative members on this site. I will hopefully have pictures to share soon!
I look forward to many more hours gaining knowledge and getting to know other members.
