Good morning - I have been a member since we got our girls 2 years ago, but have never done an intro, so here it goes:
We have 2 girls, Moira (a Barred Rock) and Stevie (a Copper Marans). I had wanted chickens for about 5 years and my husband just wasn't as enthusiastic as me, but the summer before the pandemic he surprised me with a coop and we arranged to adopt some chicks from a local farmer in the spring. Boom... pandemic... it gave us a lot of time to build a fantastic run for them before bringing them home. Now, my husband is just as smitten with the girls as I am. We love having chickens, they are so wonderful, help release stress and keep us laughing.
Since the summer before getting Stevie & Moira I have been reading up on many chicken forums, including BYC, so helpful, thank you all!! Dana
