I'm new to the site and have a great interest in raising a small flock of 3-5 hens. Unfortunately, the Town of Stratford, PEI bylaws currently prohibit the keeping of chickens. I live on a half acre rural property. While I believe I would have the support of my neighbors to raise chickens, I don't wish to break any laws. I am currently drafting a letter to Town Council to have the current bylaw amended. Any tips you could provide in this endeavor? I see there are a few Islanders in the group. I would love to hear from you and your experiences raising chickens in the PEI climate. This is a great site and I look forward to hearing from you all.
