Well, it's sunny right now, anyway! I moved here in June, and am starting from scratch with my Chicken Lady ways. When I lived in Colorado Springs, I had chickens. When I lived in Alabama, I had chickens. Anchorage just changed their code, so I'm gonna have chickens! This weekend the family and I will be turning an old work table and some pallets into a coop. It's great to have found this forum. Thanks for all the good info!

Thank you! I'm having a great time looking around and getting coop ideas. I saw Arucauna pullets for sale on Alaskaslist down in Soldotna...thinking about it. We can only have three hens here in town.

Welcome to...ahh...oh yeah, Alaska...remember, Anchorage ain't Alaska, but it's pretty darned close!

or you would know there are more Anchorage people. AlaskaItaly is here in Anchorage as well.

Ehaus, Welcome to BYC and, happy cooping tomorrow. DH has been on vacation and we are finishing up the layer coop and the duck coop. How many square feet is your property? I think you could actually have more than 3. Who told you three? The new regs say that a yard that has atleast 6000 square feet can have 6 chickens and another for each 1000 square feet. Better check lot size and have another look at the regs (title 21....look on page 115. )
