hello to everyone! I'm new to the site - had a little play around in the anything goes section of the forum last night

About me: I'm hoping that a move to a house with a garden will allow me to get my hens! My wife and I currently in an apartment so it's a no goer right now but I figured that I'd learn as much as I can before hand. My longer term goal (say 10 years) is to be self sufficient. Well, at least as much as is possible; keep own animals for meat, eggs and milk, grow vegetables/fruit and produce energy from the ground and wind. that's the dream!

We just bought a house in the country on 5 acres, we got chickens 8 months ago and I started gardening in the spring, we want to be self sufficient so we don't have to depend on the government, sorry I am starting to ramble now, lol.
