Hi everyone! I'm Heather and I'm new here. Because I'm not feeling very creative, I'm just gonna post answers to the ones in the "Introduce yourself!" post. Here goes:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Brand new! got my first 4 about 6 weeks ago and added 4 more chicks a week ago. (chicken math is pretty powerful stuff lol)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 8 total
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff Orpington, Barred Rock, Blue Laced Wyondotte, Easter Egger, Rhode Island White, Black Australorpe
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far, watching their personalities develop and learning all I can. Love that they are getting friendlier (well, most of them are) and greet me verbally with cheep cheeps.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Gardening, DIY, knitting, paper crafts
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. 45YO Momma to two boys (21 and 16) and fiance to my very own cowboy, gonna be stepmomma to 4 girls and 1 boy (ages 24-18) Planning to marry in June. We also have 5 dogs (yes - 5) and live in Gilbert (SouthEast part of the valley. Own 50 acres in Northern AZ that we've just this Spring built a little off grid cabin on. He goes twice a month and I visit as much as I can.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found by google search for questions I have since I'm a newbie. Been lurking for a few weeks and finally took the plunge and joined.
