Welcome to BYC. We are Egg-cited that you joined. We have so many knowledgable people from around the globe I'm sure someone will be able to answer your question.I saw some posts on Doves, mine are Diamond Doves. These are the sweetest little creatures.
I recently looked in my cage as i have 4 and lo and behold there is a tiny egg. Im gonna be a grandma. lol. I do have a question.
I know about malting and it is fall here in Florida. But I do have one agressive bird that keeps plucking feathers behind one of my doves neck. he constantly jumps on her and plucks her feathers. its very noticible. She is not the one that has the egg. And it does not look like a mating dance. more like an abusive behaviour. I took that bird out and moved her to another cage.
Is this normal for this type of bird? What can I do or if this is normal should i put her back in the cage with the other 3.
Any advice would be helpful.
