(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’m not new to chickens but haven’t had any in a long time! I was raised on a horse farm.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4 hens and 1 rooster
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Rhode Island Red hens, 1 Bantam Rhode Island Red hen, 1 Delaware hen and my boy is Amerucana
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
To teach my granddaughter the importance of raising and caring for her own food. Partially anyways! Lol
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy traveling with my husband and everyday on the beach is okay with me!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m a wife, mother of 4 and grandmother of 2 girls. I am currently unemployed due to covid19 but am a Merchandiser by trade and love it! We moved to Florida 3 years ago from NC (north central, little town called Eden) and I absolutely love everything south Florida has to offer! Especially Key West!!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC by googling for answers I needed for ideas.
