Having a mixed flock makes it a lot easier to tell them apart, there really is a lot of great laying breeds out there!
 
Hi from Ga. If you want 4 laying hens start with 4. You will fall in love with them and end up getting more. Welcome aboard.

To quickly update I dropped by Midway City Feed yesturday and picked up 25lb of feed, a large block of wood shavings, water and feeder cans/container, and a heat lamp. My plan is to use a large fish tank as a chicken brooder. I'm also picking up a ranko temperature controller to control the heat lamp today.
