Hi everyone! I’m so excited to have found the Backyard Chickens community. I decided to get chickens recently because I would like my two young kids to have the same experience I did when I was their age. Of course back then, my parents did a lot of the work so my knowledge of chickens is a little rusty. We now live in Orange County and after waiting a few months to get our permit approved, we have 4 silkies and an unknown mixed breed. Looking forward to learning a lot from you all

Congratulations on getting your chicks. I was in the same boat as you; we had chickens when I was growing up, but mostly my dad took care of them. So, I had plenty to learn when I got my own, and this is a great place to gain that knowledge.
