Hello From SW Arkansas

I bought my first chicks because I want to be able to gather eggs. It never hurts to have your own built in protien producers. I wasn't realy looking for pets. Of course my 8y/o son knew they would be pets from the very start.

But now I have fallen in love with these silly birds. They are so funny. I love to watch the babies scratch. They scratch like they mean business. And it is so exciting watching their feathers come in and trying to figure out how they will look when they are grown.

(I hope you don't get in trouble for 'bumping'.) It might have been better to post all of what you said the first time.

Our first chicks, EEs and BRs, are 4 1/2 weeks old now. I'm pretty sure the EEs are all girls but I'm scared that out of 5 BRs I have 4 boys. We know we could always butcher the extra boys but my 8y/o says your not supposed to eat your friends.

Not trying to bump. I've been told I have to have 10 posts before I can post a pic. Would like some opinions on the BRs. I don't feel qualified to post on other peoples threads since I new to this stuff. Sorry if I offend.

Oh no, no offense taken. I just know that there are rules on bumping, and I don't want you to get in trouble since you are new. I can't explain it fully, but bumping is when you comment on your own post in order to keep it at the top of the list so that other people will see it. You may not be doing it intentionally, but it may still be against the rules here.

I feel ya on posting on other peoples threads, but in all honesty they're not gonna mind. I did it, and I've only been part of BYC for a few days. You just have to find a post that you feel comfortable commenting on. Like in the hobbies thread or the fun and games thread. Just scroll down til you find something.
