My family and I just brought home a total of seven chickens: six hens and one rooster, from a local poultry farm. They are young, just barely feathered. I forget how old the guy said they were.

We have 3 Rhode Island Reds, 3 Buff Orpingtons and 1 Plymouth rock rooster. We converted a 9x14 horse stall in our barn into their coop. I hope to free range them during the day, but I haven't let them out yet because we've had them less than a week. I am working on teaching them to come to me when I go "chick chick chick" so I can call them back in when I let them out.
