Hello, I've been lurking for a little while but I thought it was time to join you all

My name is Sarah, I am English but live with my hubby and 4 kids in France. We've had chickens for 6 years now but I'm steadily getting more interested in various breeds.
I have salmon Faverolles, black copper Marans, a Leghorn, CochinX, various Maran X-breed chicks and two lavender pekin chicks.

This is my chicken pen. The Maran cockerel has since moved to a new home and the white sussex has died

. Usually they don't get out but I don't mind if they free-range but during hunting season it is dangerous for them because of loose dogs etc so I clip their wing feathers if they make a habit of it.

The chickens have a pop-hole into their shed. I think it used to house geese.
