Hello all! We're starting our first flock, I live in the suburbs. I've visited this site for some time, and I have to say thanks to all the people who contributed the great articles. I feel we've started MUCH more prepared to do this. I've almost finished the coop, and have 6 chicks. I have 4 Buff orpingtons and 2 black sex-links. At 4 weeks old they are doing great. I'm sure that as I go I'll have questions and look forward to sharing our experiences in this.

welcome from Indiana! I too live in a suburb and keep a small backyard flock. I have one red pullet,two white leghorn pullets-14 weeks old and two ameraucana pullets-5 weeks old.
