Hello from SW Ohio

Hi, love this site! I'm in Ohio. I have been raising French Black Copper Marans. I have 1 yr old rooster and 6 hens, 5 month old cockerel and 8 pullets. I also have 12 -5 day old marans that I hatched in a Hovabator 1588.
Had chickens here and there during my life but got the backyard chicken bug about 3 years ago. Had 4 swap hens and buff orpington rooster. Saw the dark eggs of marans and went purebred with ordered chicks from Fancy Chicks last March. Looking forward to having friends that understand the excitement of "the chicks are here!".

Hello, and once again, Welcome!
I'm currently located somewhere about SW OH as well, so we can be chicken neighbors!

This site is excellent for information of all kinds- plus the community is great, which is why I keep coming back!

(Though I may disappear for months at a time....)

How are those Marans? I wanted some too when I saw those dark eggs- but I resisted getting more chickens- until I found Blue Ameraucana eggs....
