I'm Julie and I cannot remember if I've posted an intro, so here goes.
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We have had chickens for going on 3 years now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have 4 hens and a drake pekin duck.
We bought about 10 more chicks in March and 6 guinea fowl.
Edited to add that we have ducks too.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I know for sure we have Buff Orpingtons, Black Australorps, Black and gold Wyandotte, Bantams, and I can't remember the rest. Silver something or other. Haha. We also have 5 remaining guinea fowl, and 3 Pekin ducks.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I was researching duck and chicken care and found this website online.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Beginners homesteading and hobby farming. I own a crochet store on Etsy making newborn photography props, winter hats, character hats, and baby blankets/ christening blankets.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We bought a 2 acre hobby farm about 4 years ago and we've been learning the ropes ever since. Our first animal to try and raise was chickens and ducks. We've since added a herd of goats a few months back, along with our 2 dogs. I'm currently in school online, working towards my business degree, and hubby works FT as an EMT and moonlights as an Amazon flex driver. We've got 2 teenage daughters, and they keep us on our toes.
Thanks for all of the great advice!
