Welcome to BYC, I truly hope your flock flourishes. There are so many mistakes we keepers can make. Please read all you can as they aren't as simple as you might think. I started keeping chicken last year being retired military as well and lost my first flock. Yes the entire flock. Best wishes and I hope you are smarter than I was.

It is sad as I am multilingual but German and French with a Benelux mix of Flemmish dosen't help me much down here. On a positive note... apparently we just won the best breakfast tacos in the state, putting Austin and San Antonio to shame!
