Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for members on the BYC roost!
What breeds are you planning on adding to your new flock?
Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
Welcome to BYC.Hi! I'm not sure exactly what breed yet... I've read that Red Stars are good layers and tolerant to extreme temps like we have here in TX.... any recommendations?
welcome I'm from the great state as well. have you decided what breeds ypur getting?Howdy,
I've never owned chickens of my own, but have been taking care of a friend's when he is out of town and decided I would like a few of my own.
Started building a coop today! Using a wooden shipping crate as the basic box, will post pics when I get some.
We live in city limits and are allowed up to 10 hens, but will probably just start out with 4 or 5.
Love this site already, have learned a ton!
Welcome to BYC.
We are glad you joined this flock!
Jump right in and make yourself at home.
Do you want pets or eggs or?
BYC has an APP!
Great.Mainly eggs... we eat several a day. I wouldn't mind raising them for meat also but I think my wife is going to turn them into pets so meat probably won't be an option.
Awesome, thank you!Great.
I'd say to check out Ideal's website.
You can have chicks over nighted to you for cheap.
