Goodbye aart

RIP aart!

I also found out about this late (and didn't realize there was a thread for it), but I'd been wondering why I wasn't see her around on the types of threads she usually frequented for a few weeks, and it was through seeing @BigBlueHen53 's posts that I realized why.

Learned so much about chicken keeping (and posting on this forum) through her. And I'd like to think I imparted a tiny bit of knowledge on her as well - I used the term "egg analog" to refer to fake eggs and she messaged me with, "I don't think that's the right word." She'd never seen used that way and said I'd taught her something new for the day. :)

I didn't know about this until today.
My sincere condolences to her family.
I read the link to her obit and was surprised to see that Aart and I were born 2 days apart! My bd is the 12th. Same month and year.
When I first became a member years ago it did not take long for this member to leave an impression on me.
Her advise was professional and knowledgable and the only disagreement I remember having with her was the "eggs on the counter" thing.
And whenever I got a "like" from AART I felt good! Like getting an "A+" on a high-school paper or test. Which in my case was very rare!
I hope that Anne knew just how special and revered she was to so many of us. How much she was respected and valued.
My heart is saddened and I know she will be sorley missed by myself and many others.
I know that the Bible tells us that there is a mansion with many rooms awaiting us in heaven. I imagine Anne will have a chicken coop built out back in no time flat!

I didn't know, either, until I saw this thread. I noticed the absence but sometimes people just take a break from BYC. I am sad to learn Aart has passed on.

She was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed her posts and learned from them. She seemed like a very decent person, too, from what I could gather from her interactions on here.

I agree with the post about feeling good when Aart liked one of your posts! It was the ultimate affirmation.

Aart was a big part of this community and will be missed by many.

We on the Michigan thread noted a few months ago that we had not heard from our friend aart for a while. One of our enterprising members (thank you @TheDandyLion ) managed to track down the bad news.

Many, many people here on BYC benefited from aart's knowledge, and her willingness to share so that others would benefit from her well thought out solutions to problems. She was generous with her time and expertise, and there are many of us who will miss her.
