Hello fellow chicken lovers! :jumpy

I have had chickens in the past, but had to rehome them due to selling home. We have moved and now I currently have 17 chicks! They are 8 to 6 weeks old. The breeds I currently have are Olive Egger, Easter Egger, Black Rock, Cream Legbars, Marans (Splash, blue, blue splash). They are all growing up nicely! I have 10 more chickens that I am patiently waiting for their arrival. Those will be Black Rose Eggers, Heavy Bloomers, and Rainbow mix.

I wanted chickens to provide my family with eggs and possibly meat. I also enjoy watching them run around! They are funny little dinosaurs! Oh, if you can't tell by the breeds I have chosen, I wanted a rainbow egg collection! I love seeing pictures of all the beautiful eggs, chickens are amazing!

Besides chickens, I also have 5 dogs, a donkey and horse. This year I am growing the biggest garden I have done yet! It's hard work but well worth it in the end. This year I started all my plants from seed. It's very exciting to see the little seeds grow into a beautiful plant that will later bless us with food.

My life is very busy and I love it all! I am a stay at home mom with four kids, my oldest is in college, and three others range from 17 to 13. I am very blessed to be able to have this life!

Welcome from a fellow Texan! Sounds like you are a bona fide, big-time chicken person once again. We are in East Texas; whereabouts are you, if you feel comfortable sharing? (No worries if not. 😊)

We moved last summer and have been working on garden beds, chicken housing, etc. Have been hatching our small Australorp flock's eggs and mainly selling those we aren't keeping to friends at this point. Have a bunch of ducks with wiggly air cells in the incubator now, so I've been on the board more than usual lately trying to learn how to give them the best shot possible.

My oldest kiddo is a year older than your youngest. 😊
