Hello all! My name is Zane. I live in Arlington, TX. I have been looking at this sight for quite awhile. Thought is was time to join in. I started my chicken adventure this past November. I have three RIR's and two Barred Rocks. They started laying about four weeks ago. I am have a blast with these birds!! Looking forward to learning much more from the group. Thanks!!

Howdy Pard, I'm down near Austin with a miniflock of 3 Barr Rocks, 2 Auracaunas, 2 surprise black bantam Orpingtons (who knew they came in miniature sizes?) and an old crochety Red Cap named Big Fat.
Also, horses, natch, a bouncing Airedale, 2 good barn cats assisted by a Texas indigo snake who eats the crickets, mice and keeps away the pesky wild birds (he'll have to go down the road when he gets big enough to eat too many eggs). This is a great site.
