Hi and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
I have a hen who's afraid of my Old English Game rooster but she's a part time house chicken so when she does go outside she just avoids him. You could try penning him up. How many Houdan's do you have?? If there's a lot of them than I would seriously consider removing the rooster.

I have five Houdan hens. But he keeps bothering the other hens too, but they still go in the coop. I agree I think I will separate the Sussex. Thank you for the info.
