What a great intro Mamma! I'm glad you joined and good job on keeping healthy this far. Chickens are Lil goofballs for sure, and at this stage they grow so fast! . Glad you're here I bet you have some stories to tell.Hello All!
So, yes, I am very new to Chickens.... the 4H made me do it. Or should I say, I decided that my son should join 4H to keep him even busier that we already are. He chose to do a poultry project.
So now we're the proud owners of 8 almost 3 week old chicks. We got them as 3 day old hatchlings and we've managed to keep them aliveWe have some Production Blue's, Speckled Sussex, and Crested Cream Legbars.
Chickens are funny little creatures. They make me laugh daily with their antics.
Other hobbies... there are so many. I do sublimation projects on tumblers, coffee mugs, keychains, etc. I do a lot of vinyl projects, making t-shirts, tote bags, wood signs, etc. Soap making, I do that too, and last but not least 3D printing. Lots of diversity.
I have 4 kids, 20, 18, 16 and 9. I recently resigned my position as a Property Appraiser for my county so that I can stay home and focus on my family and the homestead. between all of our kids we have 3 dogs, a cat, bearded dragon, ball python, and no fish. lol. .
I found BYC due to all my googling of how to start taking care of chicks. And it has grown from there. I figured it was time to join instead of just reading from the sidelines.
