Hey y'all!

Wife and I are old folks but new to the chicken hobby. We are Living Historians with interests in the 19th Century so we will be studying breeds of that era.

Already found tons of useful information and are in the throes of creating the run and coop behind our cookhouse. Wife has already named our hens and rooster and we don't even have them yet! Guess we'll wait to see their personalities but here goes: Minnie Lee, Myrtle, Edna, Susie, Sister and Rosella. These are our grandmother's names! Uncle Chester rounds out the group.

Looking forward to many days and nights of research and fellowship.

Blessings,
Frank and Pam

from UT! Can't wait to see your posts in the future, I'd love to learn more about breeds from the 19 century. Which ones are you interested in so far?

Welcome to the wonderful world of chickens!
Prepare to get hooked!
Two things about this forum:
1. This is VERY addictive!
2.The BYC member "Hotwings", do NOT feed her burritos!

Thanks, y'all, for the welcome.

We've only just begun....our interests right now are RI Reds, Orpington's and Plymouth Rock, all 19th century breeds. We anticipate the day we get to haul a hen or two to a Living History for the atmosphere,...and maybe an egg or two.

Love the forum so far. Thanks again.

Blessings,
Frank and Pam
