Hi everyone I am a 73year old retired engineer and as a kid raised pigeons, but this is my first time for chickens.
I currently have 9 Buff Orpington hens, (my wife "got rid" of my roo)
I also like to garden and have an area along side my chicken pen that has 6 raised beds. Each are 4 foot wide by 12 foot long.
I let the chickens in there to pick all the grass an bugs out before I plant each spring. My chickens have a couple of pen-mates that I rescued; a tom and a hen turkey. We also have 14 or 15 mallard ducks on our tank (a pond, for all you non-Texans) We have about 7.5 acres of which about 2.5 is the tank
