We are new to chickens in the backyard. The temperatures are reaching 105 with heat index to 120. We learned that a small sprinkler on low makes them very happy. We have 5 white leghorns (one rooster) and 5 rhode island reds. The leghorn hens love to walk through the sprinkler but the reds will lay in the water puddle.

My chickens love the wet earth too. I hose down the run daily and make it pretty wet. Its sooo hot here!
