(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Nope. My sister had them when I was younger (we had around 35 then) and now there my thing. We have when through years where we just did not have brids. But we have them again! The first time we had chickens was either in 2013 or 2014, I can't remember which though.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 1 Rooster, 5 Hens, 1 pullet, and 11 unsexed chicks (all of which I hatched myself)
so 18 total. However some of the chicks are getting a new home in August.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Rooster: Easter Egger. the people I got him from said he was another breed. I just recently found out he's really and EE. I still love him and care for him but he has had all his breeding rights culled. I'm kinda glad I didn't know he was an EE. Because, if I had know I would now have got him, but I really really love Alpha (he may or may not get daily hugs,kisses, and belly rubs..)
Hen 1: Buff Orpington. Her name is Crazy
Hen 2: Buff Orpington. Her name is Mazie she and Carzy are sisters. we lost their other sister (that reached hen hood), Daisy, to a fox earlier this year
Hen 3: Silver Laced Wyandotte: Her name is Speckle. We lost her sister, Susie, to a fox as well
Hen 4: Ameraucana or Easter egger. Her name is Kansas
Hen 5: Asian black. Her name is Ebony. I lost all three of her sisters to fox attacks this year and last year.
Pullet 1: Sapphire Gem aka Sapphire Blue Plymouth Rock aka Blue Plymouth Rock aka Blue sex link. Her name is Bella. Which is Latin for War and beautiful. She is one of the only chicks that survived a recent fox attack.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
1. I know how the birds are treated
2. I know what the brids are feed
3. I get to give these birds a good life
4. I don't have to support any industrial chicken farms to get eggs or meat
5. I love chickens (really I love all animals)
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I bake and cook all the time, I do a lot of arts and crafts drawings/paintings/making cards etc. , I write books/songs/poems/letters/journaling etc. , I ride,
I Garden (I am planting a garden for my chickens), I love working with animals (of every kind), I breed animals, I do photography, I love fishing, I love to hike, I sing (mostly to my shower head but still), I jump wit my grandpa's rocky mt horse, And I trying to save up for vet school. And I'm going to try to do basic liberty with my grandpa's horse. And I'm planing on starting a chicken breeding business next summer.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have one brother five sisters and one on the way plus my mom and dad. I have two dogs and I really wish I owned my grandpa's rocky mt horse.
I am a reformed presbyterian. I am a confederate. I am pro-life. Family and community are very important to me. I am a fan of the Wilsons products. And I love large families and hope with all my heart to have one of my own one day.
