Hello from the Lake District, UK.

I'm new here on BYC. Having owned chickens and ducks b4 but not for years, we are now hopefully going to be proud parents to some USA Bearded Silkie chicks. This is our FIRST time at hatching and it is so exciting, yet a little traumatic. Sadly 6 became 2 after a rough shipment and not knowing anything about detached air cells, which is what brought me to this amazingly informative sight. Two still hanging on in there and due on 25th June. Another 14 set & due on 4th July as I didn't want the first chicks to be lonely if they do hatch 🤞❤ I may need a little help nearer the time of hatching if I have to assist.
Hiya from stormy Forest of Dean
We hatched 6 chicks at school and I could not bear to give them back so brought them home
Three months and 4 cockerels later I had to rethink

now five years have passed and we have 7 new girls, a fox attack three years ago meant I needed to get over the shock of losing our remaining chicken
Once again the adventure has just begun and I’ve never laughed, been shocked, worried or loved these cute girlies !
