Hello,
Just joking!!- we really are not frozen, but many people think that once you get north of the "49th" parallel we have continuous winter which isn't true, we can have hot summers like everyone else!!
Anyways have had chickens for many years, but this is the first time we actually had a successful hatch of baby chicks, We always tried using the old "wafer" thermostats, and for us they always failed.. Some people have success with them, but we were not one of them. this time we used a computerized thermostat and we actually got baby chicks. Hats off to those who can successfully use a wafer thermostat...
When I was a kid we had all sorts of chickens-- Brahma, leghorn, bantam, Rhode island reds.
We also have had meat birds--think they were giant Cornish.
Now we have sussex X , Easter eggers, Maran X Easter eggers.
I like the exotic type animals-- like to try something new..
