Hello everyone, I'm Cheryl. My mother-in-law thought buying my 3 year old daughter 8 baby chicks was a good idea...and boy was she right! My daughter and I love them so much. My MIL raised them in her basement till they were old enough to be put in a coop outside. Now they live in the coop below our house, and I am loving every minute of it. They are still fairly small; two Rhode Island Reds and six standard white chickens(? I don't actually know). I've never had chickens before, so this is an adventure for both my daughter and I. We've already become quite found of one of the RIRs. At first he/she was the one attacking my hand when I would try to pet any of them, so I started just petting him(don't know why)-now he/she loves to be petted and actually comes up to me when I enter the coop. This is very exciting, very exciting indeed!
Cheers!
Cheers!
