Hi!
I just joined this group as I found myself the new mother of a pet chicken. I traded the local stray husky for it. husky got a bowl of cat food, I got the poor hen. She is a hen, (have the egg to prove it) and I'm pretty sure she's a Rhode Island Red but not positive. She's very sweet and clearly been handled. Have been to EVERY farmer in the area but she doesn't seem to belong to anyone so i guess she's mine.
Will looking for all the help I can get as the closest I've been to a chicken was collecting the eggs for my great grandmother when I was 3. Decided to name her Coq'aux Channel. (I wanted Koko Van but family vetoed that one. lol) For now we have her in the Min Pin's dog crate but we'll change that tomorrow when I can get to town. Looking forward to hearing from all y'all.
