Hi all!
My name is Ingrid (40y) and I'm from the Netherlands.
I have 3 Brahma's (big), 2 henns (Troela & Tuttebel) and a rooster (Herrie, witch means 'noise' in Dutch, he doesn't live up to his name at all though). I've uploaded some pictures of my lovelies in my folder, for those who'd like to see them. I got them from a young man who is trying to breed this new colour and getting it recognized, but I don't know the name of this colour in English... sorry.
I stumbled across this forum after I was googling for information about using shreaded leafs as a bedding for my chickens. It surprised me I couldn't find any information on that on Dutch websites, so I started searching in English. I was happy to read all the info about Deep Litter Bedding. I've allways been advised to keep the hennhouse as clean as possible, so this was very interesting to read for me.
Surprisingly, when I told my father, he responded 'yeah, sure, that's how they did it on the farm where I worked as a teen'.
I hope to learn more about how people in other countries take care of their chickens, maybe get some more new insights, and to share some chickenlove offcourse!
