Good luck with your poultry raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know. Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! The learning center as well as the forum should answer your questions! Glad to have you here! See you around with the flock. Very nice chicks!

So I have started Fermenting the chicken feed, I am raising Meal Worms, and now I am starting to Sprout Oats!
I have learned about aquaponics, the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar for both human and poultry, I had thought to build a permanent chicken run but had seen a video of a gal that use's fence stakes and netting to section off her field. then I said that would be easy and I could also move the run to new sections of the yard!

here are some updated pics.

this one is my favorite, she isn't as big as the rest yet but such cool coloration!

the line you see in the back right is the boys baseball field... they used some scrap boards to make a border.

this shows the liquid form most poops took before fermented feed.

I took several photo's of the more solid poops after introduction of fermented feed, but this is the only one that was not blurry or too dark.

Loved all the pictures, looks like the chicks are making plans to escape confinement. I'd keep my eye on them .

for a RIR hen is this comb normal or do I have a roo that doesn't crow...

came up with a good food bin that keeps the food clean and the loss down.

and a pic with 3 of the last 4 chickens one barred plinith rock.. 1 rir...and the EE

Sweet! None have laid eggs yet at about 25 weeks. And after the orher RIR passed without any apparent reason I was wondering if I needed to eat this one.
