Hi! I'm Melanie from Naples, Florida. Like many of you, I became interested in raising chickens to produce my own organic, fresh eggs right at home. I live in the suburbs on 1/3 acre. I wanted a small flock and had three chicks to start. One died the day she hatched, and the other died a few days later so I have one outlaw, house chick. The breeder had no other chicks this age so she has become my little pet chicken.
Coco is an easter egger mix and will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. She is super spoiled. I am certain she is the prettiest, smartest, and most talented chicken ever.
(My boyfriend tells me that all parents think that about their "kids") I spend 30 min. cuddling her in bed in the morning and when I get home from work we play in the yard or watch a movie or do gardening until it's time to go to sleep.
