Texas Panhandle
Hi everyone. Bear with me as I may ask some rookie questions. I have helped my friends with their chickens for years, but this is my first go at it. Looking forward to sharing pics, info., and progress with y'all.

:welcome

Chickens are a great deal of fun!

Are you from the treeless super flat part, or the treeless lots of hidden gullies and valleys part?

I originally hale from the super thick brushy edge of the hill country part, but I spent some time in super humid areas too.

Alaskan, sadly, I live right smack in the middle of panhandle grassland. Fortunately, we have the space, soil, and resources necessary to create a nice place with trees and grass and such. I think the chickens will really enjoy it when we get it done. Thanks to you and Kelsie2290 for the welcome replies. I am beyond loving the chicken raising process. Most of the ones I have dealt with have been at least seven months old. I must say it is great seeing the little critters grow up. I welcome any knowledge y'all can impart upon me. Thanks again.

It occurs to me I have been obtuse. Reckon I should at least tell you what I have. Lol. 5 Ameraucana pullets, 5 Buff Orpington pullets, 5 Black Australorp straight run, 5 Dominique straight run, and 5 Rhode Island Red pullets. I love the Black Austras, which I have prior experience with, and I plan on breeding my Doms eventually. They are all doing really well. I am surprised at how friendly they have turned out to be. Any thoughts?
