Hi, I have just joined, I am from the UK. we have 12 hens so probably tiny compared to all of you :) I have a question ... when we bought the hens there were 13 but one had what I think must have been infectious bronchitis. She bubbled and coughed and then suddenly went off her feet as if she had a broken leg. She is now in the land of sleeping chickens but there are two more with the bubbly coughs. Am I going to have to send them all to hen heaven or will they get over this in time? Is there something I can do to cure it?
Thanks in advance :)

I just wanted to say welcome. I lived in the UK for 10 years and I am a dual national.
Regarding your chickens, I would search this site. I know you will find what you need. Or, you can post the question on the site for illnesses. There are a number of suggested questions you answer before posting.
Good luck--and BTW not everything is bigger and more here. I only have 9 chickens with 4 who just joined us.

Hello and welcome to BYC

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems. I would suggest you quarantine the 2 sick hens immediately and post in the Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures section for advice. It sound like they have some respiratory disease or infection for which you'll need antibiotics. Ask the peeps in the EDI section. We have some very knowledgeable people who hang out there. Good luck!
