Hi, I have been visiting the BYC site for advice for a bit and have just signed up as a member.
I have 18 hopefuls due to hatch April 12th (Americaunas, SLW`s, and Australorps).
I have done the incubator/hatch thing before as a learning experience with children but this is the first
time we will be having the babes come home to us.
With the arrival of our first grandchild we started to really think about becoming more self/local sustaining and
started with garden crops a couple years ago. My hubby has been working on the addition of chickens for a couple years
as a family project and this year we are on our way. After the 12th (if all goes well) there will be no turning back.
With all the great support and learning on this site it has become far less daunting and I am now converted!
Nice to be part of a group of fellow chicken lovers.
Oh...
We also have an elderly lab, kitty and several deer, rabbits various other wildlife who drop in now and then or call our little acre of land home.
