Hi everyone, my name is Susan and I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all and learn more about keeping chickens, ducks, etc. I currently have two batches going- 4 barred rock and 2 golden sex links that are really growing adult feathers now and 2 mystery bantams, 2 ducklings and 4 golden sex links that are tiny fluff balls.

I received a free barred rock chick that was rather puny and weak for free as the feed store didn't want to fool with it. It is much better now after some touch and go days and I hope to learn more about helping them out when they need it!

G’Day from down under Susan [IMG] Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also pop in and say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out [IMG]

Nice to meet you Susan. I'm thinking if you follow the "Emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread, you will pick up some a lot of first aid etc. advice. Or maybe not, for some folks(like me) the more bad stuff I read about, the more paranoid I get.

Thank you all for the warm welcome! The chicks are doing so well and the largest six plus ducklings have moved to their outdoor coop full time now :) I will try to figure out how to post pictures as I am very proud of them all, haha!
