Hello -

We are in the Finger Lakes region - close to Syracuse. We've been thinking about chickens for some time but it came down to a snap decision when my kids and I fell in love with chicks for sale at the state fair - so we brought home 5 week-old white leghorn chicks this week. They are in a cardboard box in the house overnight and out in a quickie makeshift pen (with the kids supervising) during the day as soon as it warms up enough each day.

We are scrambling to get housing done - dh should have an outdoor movable pen done this weekend but a coop is quite a big project, so looks like I have chickens in the house for quite a while at night - lol.

Anyway - looking forward to reading and learning!!
