We are first timers with chickens

We currently have 8 chickens

1 Plymouth Barred Rock Hen
4 Wyandotte Hens
1 Ayem Samani mix Rooster
1 Ayem Samani mix Hen
1 Silkie/Frizzel Hen
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Just how unique each one is and how when you go outside they follow me around the property like puppies and the delicious fresh eggs
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a Family of 4 starting a small scale family farm on 4 acres we also have 2 cats, 2 dogs, 4 goats and a donkey I am an automated robotics engineer and my wife is a financial account manager
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I just found out about BYC yesterday and got an abundance of information on how to treat one of my injured hens and I was very impressed with how patient and caring everyone was that was replying to the questions in the threads I was reading and my wife and I thought this would be a great community to expand our knowledge on raising chickens as well as give some hopefully one day
