Hello all

I've never had chickens before and am learning lots. Our flock of 11 Mille Fleur d'Uccle (bantams) are about 7 weeks old. I'm not sure but I suspect that we lost the genetic lottery and have 6 roosters! I'm basing this on comb growth, size and behaviour. To be determined...

I found BYC by Googling questions and found lots of helpful information here.

We got chickens as entertaining pets that teach lots of life lessons for our small children - responsibilities of care, circle of life etc. Their coop is in an enclosed area outside my office window, so I get to watch their funny antics during the day.

We live outside of town but have neighbours close by on two sides so will likely get rid of all our roos. We'll maybe keep one if he's not too noisy.

Thanks to everyone that contributes to this community.
Jen
