Hugs being sent your way. I too experienced a few devastating losses to hawks, but I find it odd that 4 were killed by one all at once. No matter what though, I’m sorry. I hope things are alright with your two surviving hens

Welcome to BYC!

Thanks. It's a long story, but it would come once every few days and we didn't figure out it was a hawk at first, and then took us a while to realize that nothing short of complete coverage - a big cage would block it. In the mean time, I was sure it had broken it's wing trying to get away from me and wouldn't be back... but... a month later seems to be the same one. Alas. But we will replenish the group and they'll be safer for our experience.
