Hi, I'm new to the site and new to chickens! Worked with them a bit back in college, but that was more years ago then I care to mention
Just got 10 chicks from TSC- by the tags on the tanks we have 3 gold sex links and 7 red sex links. 2 are missing the red "stripes" on there back and one looks like your average yellow chick...Just hope I didn't get 10 roosters as they were straight run.
I live in Enosburg (NE VT near the canadian border).
My 11 year old has been begging me for chicken for a few years so I finally gave in.
We also have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 8 horses. For now I am just trying to educate myself as much as I can and enjoying the little fluff balls while they last- much more enjoyable then TV.
My 5 and 7 year old want to "help" and since they are not allowed near them unsupervised I spend a lot of time with them.
I have been lurking around reading past posts for info and decided it was time to come out of hiding.
So I'll stop rambling and say HELLO
