Hi! I'm a homesteader in northern VT. We have a small flock of sheep for meat, raise pigs over the summer, have a beefer and a Jersey and her heifer, a flock of layers and meat birds seasonally. I have a large garden and we raise most of our veggies and some fruit. We harvest hay off of our homestead and built our barn with our sawmill and wood from our land. I love to grow, process and cook food of all kinds! I bake bread, make sauerkraut, jerky, dry fruit, etc. We slaughter/process all our meat. Just love this life, and it all started 20 years ago with a backyard flock in suburban NJ. Looking forward to getting some great ideas and advice from everyone here.
