Hi Everyone! We got our chickens 6 weeks ago. They are now 10 weeks old. We have 6 chickens: 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Americaunas, 1 Black Copper Maran, and 1 Olive Egger. Their names are Big Red, Little Red, Ms. Peregrine, Whitey, Ebony, and Olive. My husband built the coop and pen for them. We'd like to expand the pen later on. We're only allowed 6 hens where we live and we're not allowed any roosters, so we are looking at lots of pictures and trying to compare them to our birds, but so far there's nothing conclusive. Big Red does have a much bigger and redder comb and waddle than Little Red and is a tiny bit bigger, but Ebony and Ms. Peregrine are the largest birds. Ms. Peregrine...(or Mr.) is very aggressive with the other birds but is the most skittish with us. Her tail also goes up and down in a swoop while the others tails are straight. Ebony makes a lot of noise unlike any of the others so we're worried that might turn into crowing. Maybe it's too soon to tell.

Please post individual photos of the birds you'd like sexed either here or at "what breed or gender is this." The biggest, reddest comb at 10 weeks, may very well be a rooster. Size of bird alone is not a determining factor - different breeds are different sizes.

I posted the pictures on the gender forum and someone said two of mine are roosters. I hope it's not true, but probably is. :(
