You might want to head to the American Serama thread. I'm fairly certain they have breeders in Washington, etc. Also visit the Washingtonians thread. My friend has 2 serama hens as total housepets and they do quite well, sit and watch TV with her every night. You can even get chicken diapers for them (check out "everything else for sale," on the BYC buy,sell,trade section.
My friend doesn't diaper hers but is always cleaning up after them - her house does NOT smell. They are at least 3 years old and alot sturdier than people would think.

My friend has 2 serama hens around 3-4 yrs. old, they are true housepets and watch tv with her every night. They are a much sturdier breed than people think. You can evernget diapers for them if you look in the Buy/sell/trade section for "everything else for sale." My friend doesn't use diapers for them but cleans up after they mess. Her house does NOT smell, so she must be doing a very good job.

Chickens do better when they have a buddy. Maybe you'll end up getting another as a friend for your serama
