Hmm, not sure I have a secret as such. I do pay a lot of attention to the outside humidity in relation to the humidity inside the incubator. I use several Brinsea Polyhatch because I like the fact that humidity is better controlled in a still air incubator. During the hatch season here I can not get the incubator to drop much below 60% so I run the incubator throughout the entire hatch period at this level. The last three hatches have given me 95%, 90% and 100% respectively. No water at all.

I think the other thing is that the eggs are not over 7 days old and I don't often buy in eggs. If I do buy eggs for hatching I am lucky that some of the best breeders in the country live locally so I can drive and pick them up.
