Brand new! After months of research and preparation, we picked up our babies from a local store yesterday.

2 Buff Orpington and 2 Easter Eggers
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

but so far they are so entertaining and it’s a great learning experience for my kids

Hiking, camping, crocheting, gardening
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
2 adults and 3 kids. No other pets but were hoping a dog is in our future.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Every time I search ANYTHING chicken-related, BYC is the first (and 2nd and 3rd...) result. Y’all really know your stuff and will be a great resource!
Here are our girls! They’re so cute and already have distinct personalities at 3 days old. We’re working on a larger brooder with a mama heating pad and some more accessories (all inspired by BYC) this week.
