Hey there guys,
Just joining this site and I already know you all are a great wealth of info! This is my first Tim of having chickens and just read in posts about everything chicken has helped me so much! I currently have a flock of 13 including our rooster Sir Rump. They are a talkative bunch and so lively and funny!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. Chickens are a lot of fun, aren't they? Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chickens do you have?

I currently have a mixed flock, 1 Delaware that I'm starting to call the bullet chicken as she hears me and flys/runs to me every time, 2 speckled sussex, 3 golden laced wyndottes, 2 silver laced wyndottes, 2 buff opingtons, 2 Ameruacanas, and one mystery rooster that we don't know what breed just his name Sir Rumpless as he had no tail feathers when we got him. He was picked on by other roosters and had to hide. Now he's looking way better and strutting around with his many hens.

I've had all of those breeds at one time or another and they are nice dual-purpose breeds. I still have Buff Orpingtons in my flock. They are very beautiful, friendly and gentle, and good layers of large, brown eggs. I also have some Ameraucanas (although ours are actually Easter Eggers as true Ameraucanas lay only blue eggs), and they are my granddaughter's favorite chickens. She loves the different colored eggs that the Easter Eggers lay. If you want to, post a picture of Sir Rumpless (full body profile showing head, legs, and tail) and we can probably ID the breed for you. Good luck with your flock.
