Hello all in the process if our first chickens my three year old had to have some layers this year do we have 3 bared rocks 3 production red and 3 buff orps he said no white ones and he paid with his money for them. It all started when he saw the red barn coop that fleet farm sells. His mom made a deal if he bought it he could have it. Well I told him that I oils probably make him one from pallets to teach him recycling and better money management and less of the instant gratification. So as it stands the chicks are in the brooder and him and I are working hard on the coop only new purchase has been some plywood for the floor. When I can I will post pics it is 4x8x7 tall and will be conected to a 4 cattle panel hoop run I had the panels from a garden project so we should be good

and Welcome To BYC! Sounds like you have a great family project going! Nice breed assortment he picked out, should have a colorful flock.
